I learned that Sgt Donald F Bielec passed away September 7, 2023. he served with B Btry 2nd LAAM Bn & D Btry 4th LAAM Bn MCB 29 Palms 1967-70.

I also learned that LCpl David Wojta passed away August 30th, 2024. He served with 3rd LAAM Bn MOS 6741 Aviation Electronics Operator, went onto Marine Security Guard (Embassy Duty) in November 1965.

Fellow HAWK Marines,

    Earlier this month, I started my campaign for the return of a HAWK display at MCAS Yuma, by sending an article to the Daily Sun newspaper in Yuma. Also, I sent a letter to the Raytheon Company , which is now a subsidiary of the RTX Corporation, requesting their help in acquiring three inert missiles and an obsolete launcher. I have not heard anything from either organization. Once I find out about the availability of the display items, I'll proceed from there.

 

    If you have not yet acknowledged your support of this campaign by email, letter or Facebook comment, please do so. So far , I have only 48 names on the list and that is a poor showing. Money will undoubtedly be needed to accomplish this project and I intend to ask Congress and others for funds. A letter with supporters names and addresses will be sent with my request.

    Pass the word to your HAWK Marine buddies about the campaign and urge them to support the effort.
